In my first blog post I wrote about the Fairphone. A sustainable phone that is supposed to last. I also wrote that we have all been really crazy about “the” situation. What I meant was the climate change.

Introduction

In my first blog post, I wrote about the Fairphone, a sustainable phone that is designed to last. In this post, I want to delve deeper into the issue of climate change and discuss the small actions we can all take to make a big difference.

The Climate Change Crisis

As Oscar Stembridge stated on December 10th, 2021, “Climate change is the biggest crisis our planet is facing and all of us have to take the necessary actions to help.” The effects of climate change are already being felt around the world, with rising temperatures and more frequent natural disasters. It’s essential that we take action now before it’s too late.

What we can do

The good news is that there are many small actions we can all take to make a positive impact on the environment. Some of the things we can do include:

  • Avoiding plastic
  • Reducing consumption
  • Reusing products
  • Avoiding single-use items
  • Using beeswax wraps
  • Repairing items instead of buying new
  • Reselling items instead of throwing them away
  • Using a keep cup
  • Recycling
  • Saving energy by turning off lights when leaving a room
  • Using a clothesline instead of a dryer
  • Walking, cycling, or taking public transportation instead of driving
  • Adopting a vegan diet
  • Planting a tree 2

By taking these small actions, we can make a big difference in the fight against climate change. Additionally, by showing governments and companies that we are committed to making changes, we can encourage them to do their part as well.

In conclusion, by making small changes in our daily lives, we can all play a part in creating a better future for our planet. Let’s take action now and show the world that we are committed to making a change.
